PROJECT OVERVIEW
Following their recent promotion, Enfield Town FC is set to expand and enhance the historic Queen Elizabeth Stadium to meet FA requirements while preserving its unique heritage. Working in collaboration with Total Grassroots, Matthew Montague Architects has designed a carefully considered upgrade that has elevated the club’s facilities and match-day experience.
Key elements of the development include a new 400-seat grandstand with wheelchair access, increased stadium capacity to 3,000, and full compliance with FA safety regulations. A key focus has been placed on preserving the Grade II listed art deco building, ensuring the stadium’s rich history remains central to its future.
Beyond structural improvements, the project prioritises sustainability and community impact. A comprehensive planning strategy has addressed traffic management, noise mitigation, and sustainable travel solutions to ensure the stadium’s growth benefits both the club and its surroundings.
With planning permission secured, work began in March/April 2025, marking an exciting milestone in Enfield Town FC’s journey. This development will not only meet FA standards but also strengthen the club’s role at the heart of the local community.
